Gel Extension Course
What is covered throughout the course?
- Salon health, safety and hygiene.
- The nail structure, anatomy and physiology.
- Understand contraindications.
- Have knowledge on how to consult, advise and prepare for your client.
- Be able to complete a set of full cover gel extensions competently.
- Advise client on aftercare and follow up appointments.
- Be able to maintain clients’ nails.
Structure The Dual Day Course
We require students to arrive at 9.30am, the day will begin with a brief introduction and welcome drinks, and handing out manuals. Moving swiftly on to theory and the step by step process of completing a set of acrylic nail extensions and gel polish application. We will then have a short break for lunch and will then begin our practical assessment from approximately midday. Our educator will demonstrate the application of one gel polish nail as well as one acrylic nail extension and then you will then complete the set of nails on your model. We will be on hand to help and guide you throughout the process, and would encourage you to ask if you are ever in doubt. We will then start to end our day with a question and answer and a little advice on where to take your nail journey from here. You will have your final appraisal where you become a fully qualified in Gel Nail Extensions & Gel Polish.
Insurance
Following the day you will be able to gain insurance to start offering your treatments to paying clients. Our courses are accredited and we’ll provide you with a list of approved insurers.
Certificate & Qualification
On completing the day course, you will be presented with a fully accredited qualification that will allow for you to go on and get insurance and provide these services as a professional nail technician.
What qualification will you receive
On completing the course you will receive a LUX Beauty Training Academy certificate, fully accredited by ABT. In addition to developing your skill set this also allows for you to obtain liability insurance so that you can start offering treatments to paying clients, from either your home, mobile, or employed at a salon.

Starter kit
There isn't a starter kit including with this course, however, you are provided with all the equipment and products you need in order to complete the practical side of the training on the day.
